Lately, there's always been a gaggle of students sneaking around and gossiping behind my back. One glare, and they'd scatter and hide.

And would you believe it? Just when I was hiding out in the wild, seeking some peace and quiet, they jumped out of some bushes holding a cake that anyone could see was sickeningly sweet. It's so incredibly ridiculous that I had to laugh. Just how many people on this planet would be happy about my "birth"?

But their little joke did remind me that on this day, there is someone I need to give a gift to.

Since I'm the one picking the gift, I'll choose it based on my own preferences. If you've got any opinions, you'd best tell me in person.

Hmm... Though just how did they find me? Next time I'll need to find a more secluded spot.

Long time no see, you're more than welcome to join in my birthday celebrations!

Though we'll have plenty of time to talk after you come, I still can't wait to tell you about this really fun thing that happened.

Not long ago, a shop in Ritou imported a bunch of goods from Mondstadt, and you could tell at a glance just how fresh they were! I seized the chance to buy a bunch and immediately started pickling some. I had originally planned to use the clear and sweet flavor of the Calla Lilies to give it a unique twist, and give my lord and milady a chance to try something new. But the final product was a completely wondrous surprise. Even the texture was totally transformed. At once crispy and tasty, but also oh-so-savory as you chew. Madam Furuta even asked me for the recipe!

Being able to share this amazing discovery with everyone is all I could ask for. As a matter of fact, I've made a whole smorgasbord of delicious dishes, be sure not to miss it!

Chevreuse Birthday Message

The Court of Fontaine has been quite quiet lately, nearly without any incidents major enough to require the Special Patrol's involvement. Perhaps it's because we recently solved a series of serious cases in such rapid succession? As a result, I'm planning on giving the squad members a little R&R.

But just as I was scheduling shifts, someone in the squad managed to magic up some mousse out of nowhere... And I suddenly remembered that today is my birthday. After so long in the Special Patrol, I'd nearly completely forgotten about it.

The cake tastes great! You should have a bite, too.

But cakes like this are calorie bombs, and it's best if you don't eat too much. If you don't mind, you can join the squad and me for some drills. Nothing too intense, we'll just do a quick 10km run and a few dozen sets of endurance exercises first to burn off the extra calories.

A whole bunch of hunters were all asking me about where my Daddy had scampered off to in The Cat's Tail today. I was thinking to myself how he probably got himself drunk in the forest again, but I went out and looked everywhere and couldn't find him! I anxiously went home only to see him busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen.

He said that since today is my birthday, he went out at the crack of dawn to hunt down a boar for a huge birthday feast!

There's no way I can finish such a huge meal by myself, so I invited a lot of friends over to join me. You'll come to, won't you? Seeing as I'm in such a great mood today, I'll even mix up whatever you'd like to drink, since today... today is an exception!

But absolutely no alcohol!

Mrow... It's been so cold lately, that I can't even stretch my tail out of my box at night! But once the weather gets cold, I know my "birthday" is coming up! To be more precise, it's the day I stopped being a normal cat and started being a youkai.

A birthday truly is such a happy day! All my colleagues at the Komaniya Express give me gifts and treat me to all kinds of delicious snacks, and the boss even gives a special approval for a paid day off! It's simply the best holiday in human society!

Though what I really want to do is turn back into a little cat, go back home, and eat the nekomanma Granny makes for me.

It truly is rare that I have nothing to do all day. No need to hide from anyone, nobody chasing after me to go pray... I never thought that I'd get such special treatment on a day that really isn't special at all.

Yet even when I sit in a tavern in broad daylight, I can't help but feel a bit bored seeing nothing but empty chairs. So after giving it a bit of thought, I finally decided to write letters to invite a few friends over.

Not long ago, Lesser Lord Kusanali kept asking me to visit the Akademiya, to borrow books or attend lectures to immerse in the academic atmosphere. I was annoyed by this and wandered around the wilderness, but she still managed to find me. She said she understood that I don't like being around others, but it can be very painful being alone all the time. She also said at least I could see you if I bring you something on my birthday.

But why should I give someone a present when it's my birthday? How absurd.

I can see that she was looking for a chance to make my life more fulfilling, but has she ever stopped to think about what an "experience" it is for others to meet me? Anyway, I ran into some students by the road, and they dragged me into joining some cooking interest group. We ended up making a lot of food that is not to my taste, so I'm definitely not eating them. You can take the rest, eat it if you like it, throw it away if you don't. I have no interest in knowing what you do with it, you don't have to tell me.
