As a way to improve the overall game experience, Mihoyo is launching the new Pre-Installation function.
This allows players to download the latest update before its release, and let you play right away! .
This feature was available for PC users during Update 1.2. It has also been confirmed that Update 1.3 can be pre-installed by both mobile and PC users.
Pre-installtion for Update 1.3 is available starting 2021-02-01 11:00:00 (Before updating to current version, UTC+8)
Here's how you can Pre-Install Genshin Impact updates (as of Update 1.3):
There are two ways Travelers can begin their pre-installation on mobile. First you can go to Paimon Menu, go to the Settings, and tap on the Other tab.
The second method can be done on the game's login screen, where you can tap on the Pre-Install Resource Package button on the bottom left corner of the screen.
Keep in mind that you still need to access the App Store and Google Play Store and tap the Update button to download the latest Resource Package.
Travelers on mobile cannot play the game during pre-installation. It is best to finish important tasks in the game (Domains, Story and World Quests), before starting the pre-installation process.
To Pre-Install the latest update, update your game launcher as soon as the update is available. Once it's done, click the Game Pre-Installation button to begin downloading the game resources.
Once the update is available, all you need to do is to reopen the game launcher and click Update. The update would begin installing, and you can begin playing without needing to add additional resources.
