How to Unlock Traces of Chroma
Vandalize the Studio Building
Traces of Chroma can be unlocked by traveling to the Eazybreeze Market in the Sunspray Summer Resort region in Natlan, then finding the NPC standing in front of a studio building.
An Asha monetoo will be present nearby, and the player must use the asha's abilities and vandalize the building, which will trigger dialogue from the man and start the quest.
Traces of Chroma Quest Walkthrough
Go to the Cafe
After the introductory cutscene, you will be asked to walk towards the cafe in the center of the Eazybreeze Market.
This cafe is recognizable by its corner placement and the four parasol tables on its terrace.
Give the Cafe Some Color
After another cutscene, you will be asked to use the Asha monetoo to recolor the cafe according to their request. All interactable parts of the cafe are marked by the spotted walls, which means they can be splattered with color.
Take note that the quest can be buggy with this, as all spotted parts of the wall need to be colored in and the quest can be extremely specific with this, so make sure you get every small spot.
Decorate the Walls of the Cafe With Yellow
The walls of the building proper must be decorated with yellow. Walk around and splatter the color yellow around each side of the cafe until the objective is cleared.
Decorate the Awnings and Parasols With Any Color
The awnings, or sheets on the cafe, and the parasols can be decorated with any color, so either continue with yellow or switch to another one and color both awnings and all the parasols.
You can also shoot the balloons in the process for good measure.
Wait Until the Next Day (08:00 - 12:00)
Once the task is done, you will be praised for your performance, and will then have to wait until the next morning once you regain control of your character.
Go to the Main Street in Eazybreeze Market
By morning, head over to the main street, which is in the same place where the cafe was.
Complete the Design Commission
After a cutscene with Cozatl, you will be asked to complete the new design commission on the instrument store.
Color the Customers' Sports Supplies
The quest is specific on this objective as there are only three sports supplies to color. Color the surfboard blue, the ball red, and the floater yellow in order to clear this objective.
Decorate the Instrument Store With Orange or Yellow
Once that is done, walk across the street towards the instrument store and color the awning, two balloons, and the store sign with either Orange or Yellow.
Catch Up With Cozatl
After the commission and cutscene, head west of the Eazybreeze Market to catch up with Cozatl.
He can be found under the cliffs inside a cavern, preparing to investigate the cavern.
Talk to Cozatl and Investigate the Cavern
Once you regain control of your character, interact with the three glowing spots as part of the investigation, then talk to Cozatl afterwards, who will give you a note.
Announce the Investigation Results
When you finish investigating the cavern and reading the Yellowed Records, walk up to Alvo and present your investigation results.

Defeat the Incoming Enforcers
After the investigation results announcements, you will have to finish this part of the quest by defeating the enforcers that are now hostile.
There are only two opponents, so they can be taken care of relatively quickly.
Wait Until Two Days Later (08:00 - 12:00)
Once that is finished, go into your in-game clock and wait out the next two days until the events of the quest have blown over.
Go to the Studio
Go back to the Eazybreeze Market and visit the Studio, where you will have a collection of people waiting for you and Zolton.
Give the Studio Some Color
For the last part of the quest, indwell an Asha and assist Zolton with the free-form design of the studio.
When you are satisfied with the color scheme, speak to Zolin one last time to conclude Traces of Chroma.

You'll also get Asha's Purple Paint after completing Traces of Chroma! You can check the paints you have while indwelled to an Asha, and by pressing Z.
