Rare Candy buffs Stage 2 decks by skipping Stage 1 evolutions, instantly evolving a Basic Pokemon into a Stage 2 Pokemon. Stage 2 decks must run Rare Candy because its ability to enable Stage 2s quickly is too valuable. This makes Rare Candy an essential inclusion in most decks.
