Death Stranding 2 Bosses Can Be Cleared Without Beating Them

Death Stranding 2 allows players to clear bosses without beating them, providing visual novel-like story snippets instead. Read on to learn more about this new feature and how far along is the development of the game.

Death Stranding 2 Development Updates

New Feature Allows Players To Clear Bosses Without Combat

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2) will have a new feature that allows players to clear bosses without having to engage in combat. During Koji Pro radio broadcasts’ latest episode on April 14, DS2 Director Hideo Kojima revealed that the game will have a feature that would help inexperienced players clear boss fights.

Kojima explained that DS2 will have an option where players can press "continue" on the game over screen, allowing them to clear the failed boss fight and proceed with the game. Choosing this option will prompt the game to show images and text descriptions of the battle, similar to a visual novel. This allows players to still get the narrative context of the boss fight without having to engage in combat.

Death Stranding Around 95% Complete

According to Kojima, DS2 is now 95% complete. He elaborated, "It’s at about 95% now… It feels like it is 10 o’clock (PM), speaking of 24 hours, Koji Pro’s DS2 is at 10 o’clock (PM), there are 2 hours left."

DS2 looks to follow directly after the events of the first game. Last month, Kojima Productions and Sony presented at the South by South West (SXSW) and shared some details about the game and its release date. The panel showed a 10-minute trailer that showcased DS2’s story, as well as new characters that intrigued a lot of fans.

Within that trailer, fans spotted a Solid Snake look-alike, and a few more story snippets and features that are new to the game. The presentation also announced DS2’s collector’s edition and its pre-order bonuses. For more information regarding DS2’s pre-order and DLC, check out our article below!
