Build Summary

Recommended Weapons
F2P Option
Recommended Artifacts
Stats to Consider CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, HP%, ATK%, Energy Recharge

Despite Zhongli being built as an HP-scaling tank most of the time, this Envisaged Echoes challenge requires him to build for more damage in order to full clear this challenge.

You can go one of two routes, investing into his Geo DMG and letting most of his damage come from his Elemental Burst, or going for a Normal Attack build that increases the Physical DMG he can do.

Weapon Recommendations

Vago Mundo Weapons
Genshin Impact - Staff of Homa Image Staff of Homa Genshin Impact - Primordial Jade Winged-Spear Image Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
Genshin Impact - Vortex Vanquisher Image Vortex Vanquisher Genshin Impact - Deathmatch Image Deathmatch

For Zhongli's weapons, focus on weapons that enhance Zhongli's CRIT and ATK or HP stats, as he needs to be able to deal reliable Physical and Geo DMG.

Artifact Recommendations

Artifact Sets

Vago Mundo Artifacts
Genshin - Archaic Petra Image Archaic Petra x2 Genshin - Noblesse Oblige Image Noblesse Oblige x2
Genshin - Gladiator Gladiator's Finale x4

Zhongli can run a mix of 2-pc. Archaic Petra and 2-pc. Noblesse Oblige to maximize his Geo DMG, or run 4-pc. Gladiator's Finale for an all-rounder build.

Artifact Stats

Artifact Main Stats
Genshin - HourglassSands: HP% or ATK%
Genshin - GobletGoblet: Geo DMG Bonus or Physical DMG Bonus
Genshin - CircletCirclet: CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
Artifact Sub Stats CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, HP%, ATK%, Energy Recharge

You can slot into HP% with Geo DMG to lean more towards being burst-oriented. If that is the case, then make sure that you have some Energy Recharge substats to charge his Elemental Burst faster.

Otherwise, lean towards using ATK% substats more, and potentially a Physical DMG Bonus goblet to ensure that Zhongli hits hard with his Normal Attacks.

Vago Mundo Strategy

Use the Resonant Stone Pillars to Break the Rock Barrier

Genshin - Vago Mundo Phase 1

For the first part of Vago Mundo, Zhongli must break a rock barrier that needs a total of 3 resonances to destroy.

Place a Pillar In the Middle

Genshin - Middle Pillar

To start off, place Zhongli's pillar in the middle, then head back to the start where the Resonant Stone Pillar is.

Once Zhongli's Elemental Skill is available again, use the Hold variant to toggle the Stone Pillars.

Sprint Towards the End and Quick-Place a Pillar

Zhongli's Elemental Skill will go on cooldown here, and will take about 12 seconds to return, which is the same amount of time needed for the resonances to get to the rock barrier.

Sprint over there and quick-place Zhongli's Pillar again, which should cause it to immediately break and create the third stone resonance needed to fully break the rock barrier.

Defeat All Enemies

Genshin - Ruin Scout ImageRuin Scout x3 Genshin - Ruin Guard ImageRuin Guard x2

For Phase 2 of Vago Mundo, Zhongli must defeat 8 enemies split into three waves in the span of 90 seconds. In order, Zhongli will face three Eremites, three Ruin Scouts, and two Ruin Guards.

It is also worth noting that enemies in this challenge inherently deal more damage to Zhongli when he does not have a shield, requiring him to keep his Elemental Skill up at all times.

Gather Assisting Crystals

Genshin - Assisting Crystals

The corners of the arena will house assisting crystals that, when broken, give Zhongli buffs that enhance his Normal Attacks, creating shockwaves that deal Physical DMG at his position.

These crystals also replenish Zhongli's elemental energy by a small amount whenever he breaks them, so make sure to take advantage of these whenever you can.

Combat Rotation

Zhongli Solo Rotation
Normal Attack(5x) -> Charged Attack

Zhongli's Normal Attack rotation is based on interrupting his last Normal Attack animation with a Charged Attack, saving more time and dealing more damage in the process.

Simply wait for Zhongli to kick his Spear away, then immediately Charged Attack. This is going to be your combo for most of the fight, using your Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst whenever available.

I gave him jade spear and 4 piece gladiator att/ crit bits apart from goblet I left hp% to give his shield a bit of strength, I had to retry the first 3 enemies a few times just be aware as the crystals re-appear seems to be timed with the dudes charge attack so just make sure to evade that first, 2nd and 3rd waves are quite easy slow moving mobs / easy to avoid attacks

It took me a few tries, but you need your shield not to die, so it's better to bring it up even before the crystals come back. Beat it with a regular nobless/petra build (though I did swap in homa).
