You can get Occa Berry by shaking Berry trees found in Wild Areas and Routes.

You can get more Berries by shaking a tree multiple times. However, the more you shake it, the higher the possibility that Pokemon will fall from the tree and challenge you into a battle.

It would also mean that the chances of getting Berries will decrease.

Occa Berry Competitive Analysis

Holding an Occa Berry will reduce the damage taken from super-effective Fire-type moves by half.

Bug, Steel, Ice, and Grass-type Pokemon should consider equipping this item as most offensive Fire-type Pokemon are built to deal the highest damage as possible. This Berry will give these Pokemon a bit of resistance when facing the likes of Cinderace, Incineroar, and Entei.

Do note that facing Pokemon with Unnerve and As One will render this Berry useless, so watch out for Pokemon with these Abilities!

Occa Berry Holders

Bisharp is a physically offensive Pokemon that is bound to do as much damage as possible to utilize its high Attack stat. It suffers however from low Special Defense which makes it a likely target for Flamethrower.

Letting it hold Occa Berry will allow it to survive taking the Fire-type attack at least once, which enables it to attack again.

The same principle applies to Amoonguss and Whimsicott. Let them hold the Berry for them to continue doing their roles as supports.
