Obtain in Wyndon

You can pick up Black Sludge in the south of Wyndon, along the narrow path that goes accross the city. Look for a sparkling item and press A.

Obtain in Soothing Wetlands

A Black Sludge can be found in the Soothing Wetlands area of the Isle of Armor DLC. From the Fields of Honor, go straight ahead and you will find it on a nearby watery area at the end.

Purchase at the Stow-on-Side Bargain Shop

Located in Stow-on-Side, there is a bargain shop that sells rare items where the prices are not fixed.

You can buy Black Sludge for ₽3000 if it is the Bargain of the Day.

You can only buy one item per day so it is good to visit daily. Talk to the merchant to check yesterday's, tomorrow's, and today's Bargain of the Day.

How to Use Black Sludge

Give to a Poison-type Pokemon

Having a Poison-type Pokemon hold the Black Sludge will make it so that it works similarly to Leftovers. This is valuable on Pokemon like Eternatus and Toxapex who are often ran in stall teams.

You can also use this item on a Pokemon that knows Switcheroo in order to make the target Pokemon take damage due to Black Sludge's secondary effect.
