Date's Challenge is located in Enkanomiya, so you have to get there first.

You also have to complete the main Enkanomiya quest chain, From Dusk to Dawn in Byakuyakoku, to unlock the Day-Night switching mechanisms and reveal Date's Challenge.

How to Unlock the Puzzle for Date's Challenge

The Serpent's Heart Puzzle is locked by a cube mechanism. You need Date's Key to open the hatch that leads to the underground room, but you should have this key if you've completed the Evernight Temple Maze and talked to Date.

Day-Night Mechanism	The Whitenight-Evernight Switch. You can also use this as a location reference.
Switches 1 and 2	The two switches used to open and close the brown gates in the room.
Triangles 1 and 2	The Triangular Mechanisms used to move the stone walls back and forth.
Broken Lines	The brown gates you open and close with the switches.
Gray Lines	The stone walls you can move back and forth with Triangular Mechanisms.

To solve the puzzle, you have to switch to Whitenight and use both the switches and the Triangular Mechanisms to move the walls until the layout matches the image above.

	Step-by-Step Guide
1	Solve the Evernight Temple Maze Puzzle to unlock an underground room. Click here to jump to the walkthrough!
2	Drop down into the room, open the Luxurious Chest, and talk to the afterimage. This afterimage is Date, and he gives you Date's Key.
3	Go to the marked location in The Serpent's Heart and look for a cube mechanism by hatch.
4	Use Date's Key to open the hatch and jump down into the room.
5	Solve the puzzle in this room to unlock the Luxurious Chest and get a Medal of Recognition. Click here for the walkthrough!
6	Now that you have Date's other Medal of Recognition, go back to his location under the Evernight Temple Maze and talk to him. If you can't see Date's location on the map, you have to switch to Evernight. This is because afterimages only appear in Enkanomiya's Evernight state.
7	Take the stairs right beside Date and open the secret room.
8	Open the Exquisite Chest to get complete the quest and get the ''Hydrological Studies of Byakuyakoku.'' This is needed for the ''Collections of Dragons and Snakes'' quest!
9	You can also grab the Key Sigil inside the secret room before you leave!
