Combat Training Guide | All Levels and Enemies

How to Beat All Enemies

Turn the Lure Mechanism into a ''Heat Source'' before starting the challenge. Afterwards, use an Anemo AoE skill to gather light-weight enemies like the Ice Shield Hilichurls. Use Pyro to break the Cryo shields of the Mitachurls and Hilichurls!

Avoid the Water Beside the Challenge Area

Right beside the challenge area is a lake, so avoid being near it as you attack or else your characters will get frozen by the Cryo Hilichurl Shooter!

How to Beat All Enemies

After turning the Lure Mechanism into a ''Heat Source'', target the Cryo Abyss Mage when they appear. Use Pyro to break their Cryo shield immediately then use an AoE Anemo attack to gather all enemies in a single location. Unleash a Pyro AoE Elemental Burst to beat them!

Activate Mechanisms Near the Water First

One Scarlet Quartz is right across a mechanism near ice paths on the water. Activate that merchanism first to avoid getting wet any further.

Beware of Enemies Nearby

One Scarlet Quartz towards the east is near the river and a Cryo Abyss Mage. One mechanism south is near a group of enemies so either defeat them first or skillfully avoid them!

How to Beat All Enemies

Once you turn on the Lure Mechanism and gain a ''Heat Source'', use an Anemo character like Kazuha or Sucrose to gather the enemies closer and use Pyro to deal as much damage to as many enemies as possible through Melt!

Use Torches to Your Advantage

Light up all the torches in the area before starting the challenge! This way, you can immediately apply Swirl using Anemo Characters and deal additional Pyro DMG to your enemies!

This will make lighting up the Mechanisms easier as well, since the torches close by may risk absorbing the Scarlet Quartz.

How to Beat All Enemies

Activate the Mechanism Inside the Wind Barrier

During the challenge, there will one mechanism inside a Wind Barrier! You need to break the nearest Scarlet Quartz then use the tower beside the mechanism then plunge down on it. The Wind Barrier will turn off in the process as well.

Get the Scarlet Quartz on Top of a Hill

One of the Scarlet Quartz will be on top of a Hill. You need to climb up and break it. Once you break it, it will drop towards the ground, so be sure to pick it up fast and activate the mechanism near it.

Light up the Torches Before Starting

Light up all torches in the area, especially the one near the Lure Mechanism. Once you start, use an AoE Anemo Attack to absorb the Pyro from the torches and deal Pyro damage on the enemies.

Use Pyro and AoE Anemo Attacks

There will be a Frostarm Lawachurl among the enemies, use Pyro to break its shield fast to beat it. To defeat the other enemies, use an Anemo AoE attack, then allow it to absorb Pyro.

Pick up the Scarlet Quartz from Enemies

Some enemies will drop Scarlet Quartz once you defeat them, picking them up during the challenge and attacking will inflict even more damage on the enemies.

Bring a Healer or a Shield Character

It's best to bring a shield character or a healer with you because some of the Lawachurl's attacks will be hard to dodge!

How to Beat All Enemies

After turning the Lure Mechanism into a ''Heat Source'' and starting the challenge, focus on the the Frostarm Lawachurl when it appears. Use Pyro to break its shield as quickly as you can. While the Lawachurl is affected by Pyro, use Anemo to Swirl Pyro to enemies nearby.

Use Crystallize to Get Cryo Shields

The Frostarm Lawachurl could knock you out easily especially with Sheer Cold present. Use Geo on the Cryo Slimes to summon Cryo crystals and gain Cryo Shields to protect yourself.

Use Pyro and Geo to destroy Mitachurl Shields

In addition to Pyro, you can also use Geo attacks at the same time to destroy the Hilichurl and Mitachurl Shields as quickly as possible! Geo can also provide Crystallize shields of Cryo when it hits Cryo enemies.

	How to Play Combat Training
1	Complete Event Quest: Act 1 to unlock the challenge.
2	Go to the location of the Combat Training area.
3	Change three mechanisms' state using Scarlet Quatz!
4	Check the time limit when you start the challenges.
5	Bring a Pyro DPS with you to defeat the Cryo enemies.
6	Starting with Source Cold will make the challenge harder.

Complete Act 1: The Snowy Past

To unlock Combat Training and all other Dragonspine Special Training challenges, you need to complete the Event Quest for Act 1: The Snowy Past.

How to Start Combat Training

To begin Combat Training challenges, you have to first go to the challenge locations. Selecting ''Go to Challenge'' on the Combat Training page will automatically direct you to that stage's location.

Note that each stage will have a different starting point and race course!

How to Change the Mechanisms' State

During the challenge, there will be three mechanisms you need to activate using Scarlet Quartz. These three mechanisms will turn the Lure Mechanisms' default ''Source Cold'' Mode into a ''Heat Source''!

Attack the Mechanisms

Break the Scarlet Quartz then attack one of the mechanisms. Each mechanism will have a Scarlet Quartz near it!

Check the Time Limit When Starting

When you start the challenge, always glance up to check the time limit and the amount of enemies you need to defeat! It will be in a form of a small banner on the screen.

Bring a Pyro DPS

Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Combat Training event both have Cryo enemies that will be easier to defeat if you have a good Pyro character as Main DPS in your team!

Possible to Start Challenge with Source Cold

It's possible to start the challenge even if you haven't changed the three mechanism's states. However, instead of buffing your characters, it will instead buff the enemies with Cryo and increase the accumulation of Sheer Cold.

Combat Training is part of the Shadows Amidst Snowstorms event. It's a Dragonspine Event in Version 2.3 with story quests that involve Albedo and other Mondstadt characters, as well as various challenges!

How to Unlock Combat Training

You can immediately unlock the first two stages of Combat Training once you unlock Dragonspine Special Training. These are available on the first day of the event after completing ''The Snowy Past.'' Two Combat Training stage after that unlocks every three days.

Can you Play Combat Training in Co-Op Mode?

Yes, you can play Combat Training with friends! Other players can break the Scarlet Quartz and charge any of the mechanisms, however, the host needs to be the one who starts the challenge. Friends can help beat the enemies during the challenge.
