Complete Act 1: The Snowy Past

To unlock Act 2: The Shadows Deepen, you must first finish the Act 1 event quest The Snowy Past. This quest was made available in December 1, 2021 after the server reset!

Having been invited to serve as instructors at the Adventurers' Guild winter camp, you reach an agreement with Albedo, who is also conducting research in the mountains, to find out what happened here. The path towards the truth is winding and long, and you keep encountering new things...

The Shadows Deepen Objectives

The Shadows Deepen Part I Walkthrough

	Objectives
1	Head back to Albedo's campsite and approach Albedo.
2	Head out and go to the location indicated on your map until you find a Boar, then approach the large pile of boulders. After the cutscene, return to Albedo's camp.
3	Change the time to 18:00 - 06:00 Tomorrow, then talk to Albedo.
4	Light the bonfire with a Pyro skill.
5	Go to the painting spot, then interact with the easel to start painting.

Similar to the first Act, The Shadows Deepen quest is divided into two parts. Both parts will reward the same Primogem, Hero's Wit, and Mora rewards, which gives a grand total of 120 Primogems, 6 Hero's Wit, and 60,000 Mora!

The Shadows Deepen Part II Walkthrough

Walkthrough

	Objectives
1	Talk to Albedo and the others outside the camp.
2	Head down the cliff to the designated location near a campfire to look for your companions.
3	Look for Albedo by breaking two piles of boulders found below the cliff.
4	Go back and talk to Eula and the others near the northern entrance to the Wyrmrest Valley.
5	Follow Albedo until you reach the area below Dragonspine near the chilly lake. Afterwards, talk to everyone after being transported to an area around the western Waypoint.
6	Defeat the Fellflower.
7	Return to the Adventurers' Guild campsite near the entrance to Dragonspine to finish the quest. Completing this quest will grant you access to the Mysterious Challenge event, renamed as the Rise of the Fell Flower!

The second part of The Shadows Deepen rewards the same Primogem, Hero's Wit, and Mora rewards as the first part. In addition, completing this quest will also give you the painting ''A Portrait of Paimon, the Greatest Companion!''

During the first part of The Shadows Deepen quest, the traveler can choose the design of Paimon's painting by selecting a combination of choices, as seen in the table above. Paimon's painting has a total of six different designs based on your choices.

Regardless of your choice, Albedo will upgrade the drawing anyways and will give you his version of ''A Portrait of Paimon, the Greatest Companion!'' furnishing.

Restart Quest to Choose Again

Note that once you have picked your painting combination, you cannot choose again, and you will have to restart the quest by relogging the game.

The Shadows Deepen Tips and Strategies

Looking for Albedo Locations

In the second part of The Shadows Deepen, look for Albedo by breaking the pile of rocks located in Wyrmrest Valley. One pile is located near a Fatui campsite, while the other is hidden behind the trees near the large dragon bone.

Defeating the Fellflower

The Fellflower is the boss of this event quest, and will serve as a tutorial for the Rise of the Fell Flower event for Shadows Amidst Snowstorms.

Pick Up the Arcane Essence

Pick up the red diamond-like Arcane Essences to prevent its icy shield from regenerating.

Destroy the Arcane Fruits

Destroying the Arcane Fruits will significantly reduce a chunk of the Fellflower's Cryo shield. Any attack can destroy the Arcane Fruits, but be sure to do it fast as they may float or disappear.

Beat the Fellflower

Once the Cryo shield goes out, the Fellflower will shrink. Afterwards, go all out and beat the Fellflower until its HP goes down to zero! Its attack pattern is similar to a normal Cryo Whopperflower, so be wary!

While the Arcane Fruits can be destroyed with any element, it is still recommended to bring Pyro characters as Cryo Slimes can spawn to distract you. In addition, you can melt the Fellflower's Cryo shield with Pyro abilities so you can down it faster!
