Best Way to Complete Your Pokedex

Use Pokemon HOME

Pokemon Home.png
Process
  1. Send Pokemon from past games with Pokemon HOME
  2. Withdraw them from your Pokemon Box
  3. They will be registered in your Pokedex

Using Pokemon HOME to transfer Pokemon from past games is one of the quickest and best ways to fill your Pokedex. The difficulty of obtaining Pokemon in the Crown Tundra can differ from previous games and you could waste your time searching in the DLC when you may have them already stored in a past game so it's our recommendation to transfer them over instead if possible.

Use Trading

For Pokemon you are struggling with getting, using the Link Trade function in the game is also recommended. If you're having trouble finding people to trade with, head over to our Pokemon Trading Board!

Things to Be Aware Of

You Can Only Choose 1

Glastrier ImageGlastrier Spectrier ImageSpectrier Regieleki ImageRegieleki Regidrago ImageRegidrago

In a single save game, only one of the Pokemon from each of these sets can be obtained. This means that in order to complete your Pokedex you will need to either have a second save file and access to Pokemon HOME or the ability to trade online with other players. Many other players will be looking to add the second choice to their Pokedexes so swapping them for each other to fill it out is highly likely!

Shield Exclusive Pokemon

The above Pokemon are this DLC's version exclusives so in order to obtain them you will need to trade with someone else, catch a Max Raid hosted by another player, or transfer them from Pokemon HOME.

There are also Legendary Pokemon exclusive to each game found in Dynamax Adventures, but as they don't appear in your Pokedex you don't need to worry about them.

Unlike last time there isn't some sort of Charm item, but you will receive a whopping 50 Rare Candies and 3 Gold Bottle Caps which are incredibly useful in powering up your Pokemon for Ranked Battles!

Certificate of Completion

For filling up your Pokedex, you will obtain a Certificate of Completion like usual. There's no way to display it in game anywhere but just receiving it is an accomplishment in itself.
