Venusaur |
In battle, this Pokémon swings around two thick vines. If these vines slammed into a 10-story building, they could easily topple it. |
Huge amounts of pollen burst from it with the force of a volcanic eruption. Breathing in too much of the pollen can cause fainting. |

G-Max Vine Lash | A Grass-type attack that Gigantamax Venusaur use. After damaging, continues to deal damage for four turns to any Pokémon that isn’t Grass type. |
Gigantamax Venusaur only appears in the Isle of Armor which is included in the Expansion Pass DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield.
The Bulbasaur obtained for free in The Isle of Armor already has the ability to Gigantamax as soon as it evolves into Venusaur. Otherwise, it's possible to use Max Soup to allow a different Venusaur to Gigantamax.
List of Pokemon Appearing in Expansion Pass DLC
You also have a chance to find a Gigantamax Venusaur in two of the Isle of Armor Dens. Namely: Forest of Focus and Training Lowlands
The odds of encountering a Gigantamax Venusaur is low so be patient when it comes to checking the Dens!
The Isle of Armor Wild Area Maps and Pokemon Locations
Near the beginning of your adventure on The Isle of Armor, you'll be able to choose between a Bulbasaur or a Squirtle. If you choose Bulbasaur, you can evolve it into a Venusaur, and what's more, it automatically starts out with Gigantamax potential! The Squirtle obtained in this way will have Overgrow, its standard Ability, and three perfect IVs.
Should you Choose Bulbasaur or Squirtle?
Although Venusaur is originally not obtainable in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you can get it by transferring it from Pokemon's new cloud service, Pokemon HOME, to the game.
When downloading the mobile version of Pokemon HOME for the first time, you can receive a Hidden Ability Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle as a free gift. You can evolve the Bulbasaur obtained in this way to get a Venusaur with its Hidden Ability, Chlorophyll!
