Compared to the previous enemies, Hydro Tulpa: Flashflood does not have much added mechanics in Fearless mode, allowing you to essentially use the same teams.
Prioritize having teams and characters with fast elemental applications against Hydro, as your main priority will be killing the mini Tulpas that spawn throughout the fight.
How to Beat Hard Difficulty
Eliminate Any Mini-Tulpas
The Hydro Tulpa has highly telegraphed attacks, with most attacks able to be dodged by moving towards its left. Additionally, since the Tulpa does not have much damage compared to Fearless, you can brute force it.
Take note that if any Mini-Tulpa is on the field, there is a chance that the Hydro Tulpa will relocate towards the Mini-Tulpa's location and attempt to absorb it. Kill the Mini-Tulpa during this process to interrupt the absorption.
How to Beat Fearless Difficulty
Save Rotations For Mini-Tulpas
Your main priority in Fearless Mode is to eliminate the Mini-Tulpas as they spawn in groups of three to prevent the Hydro Tulpa from entering an enhanced state.
Remember to dodge to the Tulpa's left and be aware of the absorption process every time the Tulpa attempts it.
Pick the Right Special Topics
If you are choosing Special Topics in order to gain the 2-star rating, then opt to pick the 1st and 3rd ones that multiplies the Mini-Tulpas and increases the Tulpa's ATK.
We opt for the 1st Special Topic over the other two due to the 2nd one making the Mini-Tulpas harder to kill and the 4th one adding an entirely different mechanic to the Tulpa fight.
Food Items are Usable
It should be worth noting that you can use food buffs in this fight in order to revive units or increase your damage.
Use this as a trump card for when your pivotal units get hit by a stray attack and go down, or to up your damage so you can defeat the opponent quicker.
Co-Op is an Option
One of the main features of this event that this is available to do in Co-Op, allowing you to team up with friends in order to tackle the challenges.

When it unleashes Devastating Torrent, all characters currently on the field will be downed. While charging, Hydro Tulpa: Flashflood will activate a Shield that regenerates Elemental Energy and Fighting Spirit for characters in your party and resets the CDs of Elemental Skills and Bursts. If the Shield is broken, the charging of Devastation Torrent will be interrupted. |
