Competitive Analysis

Dream Eater is a special Psychic-type move that only works against targets that are asleep. It heals the user equal to half of the damage done to the target.

This move may seem simple but it is quite hard to rely on. Most Pokemon that can learn Dream Eater can also learn Hypnosis, but fully depending on Hypnosis isn't effective most of the time due to its 60 accuracy.

Also, Pokemon that can learn Dream Eater can use better, more powerful moves that are more useful in battle and does not rely on anything.

Additionally, Electric Terrain, which can be easily set up by Electric-type Pokemon, will make this move useless as long as the terrain is in effect as it prevents Pokemon from being asleep.
