This species of bird was once mistaken for a relative of Qucusaurs due to their distinctive body shapes and coloration. It was not until a number of knowledgeable people learned how to get close to them and studied them in detail that their true nature was understood. This is the reason behind the Red Flamingo's nickname, the Toothless Saurians. Red Flamingo Locations

Located Near the Waters of Natlan

Red Flamingoes are commonly found near water areas within Natlan. Most can be seen east of the People of the Springs main village and around Tepeacac Rise, southwest of Children of Echoes.

Some can also be found at the border of Natlan and Sumeru, so when you're on your way to Natlan, they will be the first set of new animals to greet you!

Found Around Ochkanatlan

Red Flamingoes are also found in the bodies of water surrounding Ochkanatlan. However, we do recommend doing the Lost Traveler in the Ashen Realm quest first to avoid getting into a cutscene while looking for a Red Flamingo.

Some Red Flamingoes can also be seen near the waterfalls west of the Flower-Feather Clan and along the rivers east of the Masters of the Night-Wind.
