Magnet Effect and How to Get It

Effect An item to be held by a Pokemon. It's a powerful magnet that bootst the power of Electric-type moves.

How to Get Magnet

You can get Magnet in Hulbury, close to where the Incense Shop and the Herb Shop are.

How to Use Magnet

Magnet should be equipped by Electric-type Pokemon as it boosts Electric-type moves by 20% and also stacks with STAB.

This item fits most Electric-type attackers as it maximizes their offensive capabilities, although the item only affects Electric-type moves and will not boost moves of a different type.

Magnet vs Choice Item

For offensive Electric-type Pokemon, you will at times wonder if Magnet or Choice Band or Choice Specs fits your Pokemon better.

Advantage Disadvantage
Magnet ・20% damage boost to Electric-type moves
・Can use all moves		 ・Only boost Electric-type moves
Choice Band or Choice Specs ・50% boost to Atk/Sp.Atk ・Locked to one move

The right option between these two items depends on how offensive you want your Pokemon to be in battle.

If you only want to use one Electric-type move, then a Choice item will be your best bet. If you think that you need to use coverage or any other moves, opt for Magnet.
