Obstruct Competitive Analysis

Obstruct is a good defensive tool for Obstagoon as it protects it from damage and lowers the attacker's Defense stat by two stages.

Note that only moves that make contact will trigger Obstruct's secondary effect. Meaning non-contact moves or moves affected by Long Reach will protect the user but won't lower the attacker's Defense stat.

Like most protecting moves, using Obstruct consecutively will decrease the chance of success.

List of Protecting Moves

Obstruct Locations

Obstruct is the signature move of Obstagoon, thus making it the only Pokemon that can learn the move.
