Ally Switch is a redirection move that is highly-valued in Doubles. When used on your other Pokemon, it swaps places with the user.
Ally Switch's purpose is to swap the user with its ally in order to avoid an incoming move. Bulky support Pokemon are often equipped with this move.
Switchers are paired with attackers so that it can be saved from what would otherwise be a super-effective attack from your opponent and just let the Ally Switch user take the move.
Once both parties are aware that this strategy is present in the current match, it all comes down to which player can read and predict their opponent better: Will Ally Switch be used next turn or not?
One definite counter to Ally Switch is Taunt, as it disables the target from using status moves.
Another one would be using multi-target moves like Expanding Force, Blizzard, or even Surf or Earthquake. This would eliminate the purpose of redirection as it would hit both Pokemon on the field.
Ally Switch (TR83) can be found in the Snowslide Slope area of the The Crown Tundra DLC.

It's also possible to get Ally Switch (TR83) from Psychic-type Max Raid dens as a reward for defeating or catching the resident Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon.
It's also possible to get Ally Switch (TR83) from the Cram-o-Matic, although the chances are still low even when using the right items.
