Energy Transfer Terminals are puzzle devices that look like research terminals located in the new areas of Version 4.1.
Most of these terminals have ceased to operate; in order to restore them to normal operation, you must collect and transfer energy from various storage devices. Solving these terminals could unlock new locations and chests!
Various world quests and puzzles scattered in the Fortress of Meropide use the Energy Transfer Terminals as mechanisms to unlock chests or help further progress in parts of a quest. Check out our guide below to see where these terminals may be needed!
Solving the Energy Transfer Terminal puzzles in the Fontaine Research Institute Chronicles is a major objective in obtaining quest items! Players will have to complete this objective a few times in order to unlock the other parts of the quest's story.
Fontaine Research Institute Chronicles
Once you find a blue Terminal, you are free to access it and view the surrounding area through the use of Viewfinders, which look like red alarm sirens but function like surveillance cameras.
If the Terminal itself is red, you're going to have to find an energy storage device nearby and plant it next to the Terminal to give it power.
If you find another transfer terminal using the Viewfinder, you can switch to it by aiming your crosshairs at it and pressing it. For console players, simply aim your crosshairs at the terminal and wait for the meter to fill up.
All energy collected will be transferred to the new terminal.
To repair the Energy Transfer Terminal, you must use the Terminal's Viewfinder to collect and transfer energy from either the Fixed Storage or Energy Transfer Device .
Fixed Storage and Energy Transfer Device
Cipher Letters are also present in Genshin Impact's 4.1 update. These sigils can only be deciphered through the use of the Energy Transfer Terminals' Viewfinders. Simply aim your crosshairs at the Letter to read its message.
