How to Play A Study in Potions

A Study in Potions Gameplay Guide

	How to Play A Study in Potions
1	Select a Trial Stage and a Floor Challenge.
2	Choose your Characters.
3	Pick your Potions.
4	Defeat the enemies to get a high score.

Select Trial Stage and Floor Challenge

There are a total of 3 Trial Stages and each one has 4 floors to challenge. A new Trial Stage will be unlocked after every two days after the event releases.

Floor Challenge Difficulty

Difficulty Increase
Normal -> Hard -> Extreme -> Fearless

Floor Challenges can be done in any order, but the remaining floors will have their difficulties increased as you complete more of them.

The first floor you do will be of the Normal difficulty, the next will be Hard, followed by Extreme, and the last floor challenge you do will be of the Fearless difficulty.

Select Combat Difficulty

Before challenging the floors, you can also select the Combat Difficulty. There are two to choose from, Accurate Sample and Strong Control Group.

Accurate Sample difficulty will be easier but you won't get a score multiplier.

Strong Control Group is harder but you will receive a 2.5x score multiplier.

Choose your Characters

After selecting the difficulty, you will need to build your team. You can select from characters you own or from trial characters available in each Trial Stage.

Each Trial stage will have 4 trial characters that you can choose from.

Characters go into Standby after using them

Once you complete a floor challenge with a set of characters, those characters will go into Standby mode.

Characters on Standby mode can't be used in the next floor challenge, you will need to complete a floor challenge with a different set of characters first before you can use them again.

Pick your Smoldersleet Potions

You can also bring up to 3 Smoldersleet Potions that can buff your party during the challenges.

Completing a challenge will consume the Smoldersleet Potion that you brought, so you will need to choose different ones for each Floor Challenge.

Defeat Enemies within Time Limit

In order to complete the Floor Challenges, you will need to defeat the enemies within a time limit. Defeating them faster will earn you more points, so make sure you're prepared and go for gold!

Can you do A Study In Potions in Co-Op Mode?

No, the trial stages in the A Study in Potions event can't be done in Co-Op mode. Similar to Spiral Abyss, you also can't use items or eat food while taking part in the challenge.
