Spell Tag | |
Effect | An item to be held by a Pokémon. It's a sinister, eerie tag that boosts the power of Ghost-type moves. |
---|
The following Pokemon may hold the item, Spell Tag. You can get it by using the move Thief or Trick.
Duskull | Dusclops | Dusknoir | Sandygast |
Located in Stow-on-Side, there is a bargain shop that sells rare items where the prices are not fixed.
You can buy Spell Tag for ₽3000 if it is the Bargain of the Day.
You can only buy one item per day so it is good to visit daily. Talk to the merchant to check yesterday's, tomorrow's, and today's Bargain of the Day.
The Spell Tag has the effect of increasing the power of Ghost-type Moves by 1.2x.
This can be an alternative to choice items since it does not penalize the user in using only one move. However, it is important to note that this only affects Ghost-type Moves and is recommended to be used by Ghost-type Pokemon that benefit from STAB.
A common crossroad you may encounter for offensive Ghost-type Pokemon is choosing between Spell Tag or either Choice Band or Choice Specs.
Advantage | Disadvantage | |
---|---|---|
Spell Tag | ・20% damage boost to Ghost-type moves ・Can use all moves |
・Only boost Ghost-type moves |
Choice Band or Choice Specs | ・50% boost to Atk/Sp.Atk | ・Locked to one move |
The right held item to use will depend on the strategy you plan to do with your Pokemon.
If your Pokemon will only rely on one Ghost-type move, then a Choice item will be the better option. If you think you need to cover the weaknesses of your Pokemon with other moves, then let it hold Spell Tag so it can use non-Ghost-type moves.
