Competitive Analysis

Mind Reader is a status Normal-type move that works like Lock-On, where it ensures that the next move the user will use on the target will hit.

This move also guarantees one-hit KO moves will land, despite having low accuracy.

A great example of using this move is using Mind Reader on a target and using Hypnosis on the next turn to guarantee sleep.

As for Articuno, you can mix Mind Reader and Sheer Cold to instantly eliminate a target! Although take note that these strategies are very predictable.

Additionally, Mind Reader will fail if used on a semi-invulnerable target, like those in the middle of Dig or Fly.
