Competitive Analysis

Despite having low accuracy, Stone Edge is one of the most commonly used Rock-type moves, especially when using it as a coverage move.

Using Stone Edge in battle is a high risk, high reward situation wherein it could be devastating if the move misses, but very satisfying if it hits, especially if you land a critical hit.

Stone Edge vs Rock Slide

Stone Edge and Rock Slide both have advantages and disadvantages. Deciding between the two will depend on what you want to happen.

Stone Edge will hit harder than Rock Slide and has a high chance of landing a critical hit, although it will only hit 80% of the time.

Rock Slide, on the other hand, is less powerful but has a chance to make the target flinch. It also hits both opposing Pokemon in Doubles.
