Competitive Analysis

Confusion is a standard special Psychic-type move that has a chance to make the target confused.

Psychic Moves that Disrupt

Confusion, Psybeam, and Extrasensory are special Psychic-type moves that are able to confuse or flinch your opponent.

Both Psybeam and Extransensory, however, are better moves than Confusion as they deal more damage.

Confusion vs Confuse Ray

Confusion and Confuse Ray can fit the role of moves that can confuse your opponent, but it should be noted that one move will not affect a certain type.

Dark-type Pokemon are immune to Psychic-type moves, while Normal-type Pokemon cannot be affected by Ghost-type moves.

Additionally, Confusion can only inflict the status by chance but will damage its target, while Confuse Ray is guaranteed to cause confusion but will deal no damage.

Confusion Locations

Confusion is only available by Default, Level Up, or via Egg Move.
