Competitive Analysis

Electro Ball's damage calculation will depend on how high the user's Speed stat is compared to its target.

Most Electric-type Pokemon are naturally fast, but are often outsped by non-Electric Pokemon. You can use Agility or Choice Scarf or other Speed-boosting moves and items to improve your Pokemon's Speed stat. The same idea can be applied to non-Electric Pokemon that are equipped with Electro Ball.

Another strategy would be lowering your opponent's stat with Speed-reducing moves like Electroweb or items like Iron Ball (via Trick)

Take note that Pokemon with the Bulletproof Ability are immune to Electro Ball.

Manetric can learn Electro ball by level up, and it's electro ball is powerful, as I used one in a playthrough of Shield, where anytime I used electro ball with Manetric, I would oneshot anything that was weak to it and nearly oneshot neutrals as well
