Heat Wave Competitive Analysis

Heat Wave is a strong FIre-type move especially in doubles as it deals damage to both opposing Pokemon. This move also has a 10% chance to inflict Burn.

Torkoal is one of the most prevalent Heat Wave user as it has STAB in addition to bringing out the sun which boosted the power of Heat Wave even more. This made Heat Wave one of the most common Fire-type move for sun based teams.
