Gigantamax Melmetal

Gigantamax Melmetal.png

The new Gigantamax form of Melmetal was revealed in a new Expansion Pass release video on September 29, 2020.

Gigantamax Melmetal's G-Max Move

G-Max Meltdown 2.jpg

Move Type Effect
G-Max Meltdown Pokemon Steel Image A Steel-type attack that Gigantamax Melmetal use. This move makes opponents incapable of using the same move twice in a row.

Melmetal's G-Max Move, G-Max Meltdown, is described as “superpowerful” on the official Pokemon website. It's possible that it will be stronger than other G-Max Moves, similar to G-Max Fireball and those learned by the Galar starters.

G-Max Meltdown Effect

G-Max Meltdown 4.jpg

G-Max Meltdown also features a secondary effect akin to the move Torment, preventing opponents from using the same move consecutively. This new potential to inflict the Torment status without using a full turn opens Gigantamax Melmetal to new metagame possibilities.
