This article is a list of past Online Competitions in Pokemon Sword and Shield, including the 2020 International Challenge in February.

2020 International Challenge
2020 International Challenge is the first international challenge to be held in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Here you can challenge players around the globe with the Pokemon you got from the Galar Region. This competition will use the same rules as the current championship series format.
Basic Information
- Only one account can join per Nintendo Switch.
- Players can sign up both their Pokemon Sword and Shield game in one console to enter the game.

Competition Reward
The top competitors can get a total of 50 championship points in total. Be sure to connect your Pokemon Trainer Club to your Nintendo account .
Participation Reward
Players who participated in at least one match with either win or loss will receive the casual tee (Poke Ball Guy).
Competition Format
Battle Format

| Double Battles |
| 4-6 Pokemon of Lvl. 1 - 100. |
| All Pokemon will be turned to level 50 in the match. |
| Only 4 Pokemon will be selected for battle. |
Eligible Pokemon
Pokemon 1 - 397 from the Galar Pokedex is eligible to join in the competition. Gigantamax Charizard, Butterfree, Pikachu, Meowth, Eevee, Snorlax, Corviknight, Drednaw, Sandaconda, and Centiskorch are eligible to be used in the competition.
Only Pokemon who were initially obtained by you or another trainer in one of the following ways will be allowed in the competition.
- Caught in-game
- Hatched from an egg in-game
- Received as an official Mystery Gift
Timers

| Preview Time | 90 seconds. |
| Turn Time | 45 seconds. |
Battles Per Day
Players are allowed to play 15 games per day. Games that are not finished within the day will be carried to the next day.
