You can get Yache Berry by shaking Berry trees found in Wild Areas and Routes.

You can get more Berries by shaking a tree multiple times. However, the more you shake it, the higher the possibility that Pokemon will fall from the tree and challenge you into a battle.

It would also mean that the chances of getting Berries will decrease.

Yache Berry Competitive Analysis

Holding a Yache Berry will halve any damage taken by the holder from super-effective Ice-type attacks.

Usually, Pokemon weak to Ice-type moves with low Special Defense stats should hold this item to have at least some resistance against the likes of Ice Beam and Blizzard.

Do note that facing Pokemon with Unnerve and As One will render this Berry useless, so watch out for Pokemon with these Abilities!

Yache Berry Holders

Alolan Exeggutor is the perfect example for a Yache Berry holder. Having a Grass and Dragon-typing makes this sky-reaching Pokemon be 4x vulnerable to Ice-type moves, along with its low Special Defense.

Letting A-Exeggutor hold a Yache Berry will give it some breathing room against Pokemon with Ice-type moves.

Additionally, Yache Berry also synergizes well if A-Exeggutor has Harvest, which replenishes its Berry after every turn as long as harsh sunlight is present in the field. This allows it to survive longer against Ice-type threats.
