Conversion Competitive Analysis

Conversion is a utility move that allows the Porygon line to be a versatile sweeper. This move changes the user's type to whatever move-type is at the top of its move list. So for example, if your Porygon knows Thunderbolt, Conversion, Ice Beam, and Tri Attack, this move will turn Porygon to an Electric-type Pokemon due to Thunderbolt being an Electric-type move.

However, Porygon's moveset is key to its success in competitive play. There's simply not enough slot for Conversion. And while the STAB it gives is good, Porygon and its evolution already has enough damage that it's better off to run more coverage moves instead.

Conversion Locations

Conversion is the signature move of the Porygon line, thus making them the only Pokemon that can learn the move.
