Competitive Analysis

Thunder Wave is one of the forefront moves of inflicting status conditions in Pokemon. Its main purpose is for speed control and is used against offensive Pokemon that relies on their speed to be useful in battle as being paralyzed halves a Pokemon's Speed

Thunder Wave is usually taught to utility Pokemon in order to set up an advantageous position for the team's main attacker.

The move however isn't perfect, as it only has 90 accuracy and like other Electric-type moves, cannot be used against Ground-type Pokemon.
