How to Beat Bea

Raise a Flying or Psychic-type Pokemon to Level 35

Bea, the leader of the Stow-on-Side Gym in Pokemon Sword, uses Fighting-type Pokemon. It's a good idea to prepare a Flying or Psychic-type Pokemon to take her on. Taking Fighting types' low Special Defense into account, using Psychic types with high Special Attack is highly recommended; however, watch out for her Pangoro, as its Dark typing renders it immune to Psychic-type moves.

Stock up on Revives, Super Potions, and X Defend

Bea's Pokemon deal heavy damage, so have these items along as insurance to help make it through the fight. X Defend can also be handy for your lead Pokemon to help them weather physical attacks.

Have a Pokemon who can handle Machamp's attacks

If your Pokemon's levels are low coming in to the fight, put in a Pokemon who can withstand Machamp's Dynamax attacks. If one of your Pokemon can withstand 3 attacks from Machamp's Dynamax form, it will return to its normal form and become easier to handle for the rest of the battle.

In Pokemon Sword Only

Remember that Bea is only encountered in Pokemon Sword, so if you're the proud owner of Pokemon Shield, you won't need to prepare your party to face her.
