Competitive Analysis

G-Max Terror has the secondary effect of making opposing Pokemon unable to flee. This works even if there is a subtitute, although the trapped Pokemon can use a moves such as U-Turn or Teleport in order to switch out.

The secondary effect has a niche in trapping defensive Pokemon but is otherwise inferior to Max Phantasm.
