You can get Petaya Berry by shaking Berry trees found in Wild Areas and Routes.

You can get more Berries by shaking a tree multiple times. However, the more you shake it, the higher the possibility that Pokemon will fall from the tree and challenge you into a battle.
It would also mean that the chances of getting Berries will decrease.

How to Win Max Raid Battles
Petaya Berry is a fairly popular pinch berry for special attackers that have no way to increase their Sp.Atk stat naturally, and is often paired with the move Substitute to ensure that the holder can lower its HP to activate the berry.
Sceptile is a good user of the Petaya Berry since it lacks an Sp.Atk-raising move and the item synergizes well with its Unburden Hidden Ability.
Once Sceptile lowers its health and activates the Petaya Berry to get its Sp.Atk boost, its Speed doubles thanks to its Ability activating - allowing it to outrun and potentially KO the opposing Pokemon.
Petaya Berry can be used as an ingredient when cooking Curries at the Campsite! Using Petaya Berry in your Curry will give it a Spicy, Bitter and Sour flavor.
You can also use Petaya Berries to produce an item at the Cram-O-Matic! The product you will get will depend on what items you combine the Berry with.
