    Oof, the person I traded my shiny to has traded me a shiny sandaconda named '#' lmao can't change it but I guess I'm stuck with it know, honestly thought that I could change thr nickname after since 'You can change traded pokemons names!' was announced. Rip

    Good to know Nintendo lied about being able to change the name of traded Pokémon with a name already (like they lied about everything else in this game) Looks like I’m stuck with my in game traded Togepi names Snips. Since I looked for hours in Bridge Field and couldn’t find a single Togepi Also WHAT THE FUCK KINDA NAME IS SNIPS?!?!?

    Yeah it seems like Pokemon from events can't be nicknamed (I assume your Mew has an event OT/ID). It might even just be a cherish ball that the game uses to decide what counts as an event Pokemon. I was able to nickname my wishmaker Jirachi but I couldn't rename newer event Jirachis with cherish balls.

    I’ve been trying to rename a shiny Mew I got, but it won’t let me. The name hasn’t been changed, and it’s not foreign :/

    Your correct. I have tried multiple times to change the name of a Pokemon that was from Japan. The name guy just says it’s a great name and does not give you the option to change it.

    Pretty positive that only traded pokemon from the same language can be nicknamed once.
