How to Play Tales of the Youkai

Youkai Web Event Guide

1. Complete missions to get inspiration!
2. Write light novels about the youkai.
3. Select a light novel title!
4. Pick an angle for the story.
5. Collect all the readers' replies!
6. Get the rewards from the writing paycheck.

Get Inspiration via Missions

Before you can start writing the light novel about the youkai, you need inspiration! You can get inspiration by completing daily missions. These missions refresh daily at 4:00 (Server Time)!

Start Writing Stories on Youkai

Once you have enough inspiration, click on the Start Writing speech bubble on the screen, then select the available youkai theme you can write about! There are five youkai themes, that eventually unlock each day at 4:00 (Server Time).

Pick a Title for the Light Novel

There will be three titles you can choose from, pick one and Paimon will create a sketch of its illustration. Simply select the Continue Writing Button after choosing a title!

Choose an Angle for the Story

After the title and illustration, pick one among the two story angles you want and read. You will be shown the summary of the light novel with that story angle and if you're satisfied with it, click on the Complete Creation Button!

After that, you'll see the final illustration of the light novel and the readers' replies! The first time you complete the light novel, you get a reward.

Picking an Angle Can Be Repeated

You can check on all the results of the titles and story angles before completing the novel by simply pressing the back button. This will bring you back to the theme selection screen!

Get all Readers' Replies!

To access the readers' replies, go back to the main screen of the web event and click on the readers' replies button on the lower left side of the screen. There are six replies in total, which means you can keep writing the angles until you get all the replies for each theme!

Get the Writing Paycheck

After completing your first light novel of a particular theme, you get rewarded with a Writing Paycheck. There are five of them for all five themes!
