Clangorous Soul Physical Attacker Moveset & Best Build

This build revolves around Kommo-o's ability to drastically buff itself using Clangorous Soul. Against Pokemon with higher speed than Kommo-o, setting up Substitute and using Clangorous Soul is the best way to increase its stats. With a high enough speed increase, Kommo-o can take on the likes of Gyarados or Darmanitan.

Adding in Leftovers as its held items will allow it to recover HP lost when its Substitue breaks. Drain Punch is also useful for healing itself, increasing its survivability.

One of the best things about Kommo-o is that due to its Soundproof ability, it is immune to Sylveon's often used Hyper Voice.

Clangorous Soul Special Attacker Moveset & Best Build

This build uses Clangorous Soul to buff Kommo-o up into a strong special attacker. If you can increase Kommo-o's speed enough, it can even outspeed Dragapult. Even if it takes a hit from Max Wyrmwind, its special attack won't decrease and it can continue to fight on at full power.

Paired with a Sitrus Berry it can also keep itself healed up and in the fight, similar to Drain Punch in the physical build.

Using Flamethrower also keeps it safe from Pokemon like Ferrothorn or Covriknight whose abilities and builds often deal damage to physical fighters.

Focus Sash Moveset & Best Build

Focus Sash guarantees Kommo-o's survival after being hit by any potention 1HKO move. It can also increase its Speed further by using Clanging Scales.

About Kommo-o's Ability

Any Pokemon that has any weather-altering ability may use a move that would have potentially knocked out Kommo-o in one move but has endured it due to Focus Sash, but is then damaged by Hail or Sandstorm. With Overcoat, Kommo-o can avoid fainting on the same turn as the Ability protects it from getting damaged by the weather.

How to Use Kommo-o Effectively

Increase its Power With Clangorous Soul

Clangorous Soul raises all of Kommo-o's stats by one stage so its potential to become powerful is high. One of the most important things is the fact that if its speed is high enough it can even act before Dragapult, so it can take on the already speedy Dragon-types.

Also, since it has a large move pool, Kommo-o can be made into either a physical or special attacker to take on a wide variety of situations.

Go After its Fairy Weakness

Kommo-o has a 4x weakness to Fairy-type attacks so that's the best way to handle it. Mimikyu is especially good at this as it is immune to both Dragon and Fighting-type attacks.
