This should be updated to include the new 4 star weapon, Dialogues of the Desert Sages. It's definitely a more viable choice for shield Zhong than black tassel. Sure, black tassel offers 5.6% more HP, but that only equates to like, 100 extra shield HP. and you're giving up close to 1000 base burst and 200 base skill and resonance dmg. not to mention Dialogues of the Desert Sages synergizes with a C6 Zhongli much better, which is starting to get more feasible since Zhongli has appeared 5x

He makes progressing the game sooo much easier

Important tip on Stone Steele placements: face away from the enemy before Hold-E otherwise, facing the enemy before placing will make the stone disappear.

If you consider to wish for him and if you start playing this/last year, don't listen people who are playing since first versions. They have great builds with a lot of characters and thinks he is not useful for anyone because their great builds does not need him anymore. Even for only one character you have to farm artifact over 6 months for perfect stats. So, If you don't have perfect stats for your team, If abys floor 12 hard for you that means he will useful for you

I have Skyward Spine R2 on him. Is the new craftable Polearm (the one with the HP% Stat) better than both Skyward Spine and Favonius Lance? I know that Blacktassel has better HP%, but if so I like to use 4 Star and 5 Star weapons more then 3 Star weapons.

His C2 is definitely > C1 and probably his best constellation. Zhongli's burst can be a loss of DPS since it's so long, so with C2 this is not the case anymore. I guess Emblem does become decent with C2 but I would probably still prefer Tenacity over it in most of his teams.

I think Emblem is viable if not even better than other builds at C2. Many people run an ER weapon on him anyways (mainly see Favonius for good particle generation) and since his burst generates a shield, it's helping keep a shield up constantly. Sure, his burst doesn't cost very much but the emblem can improve its damage also. I've found that if you stack too much HP stats you end up with diminishing returns so investing in energy wouldn't be a bad idea anyways.
