How to Unlock Gourd of No Return

Approach Guo Huailie at Mount Wuwei

Gourd of No Return Map Location
Region Liangzhou Town, Hexi

To unlock the Encounter Gourd of No Return, talk to the Elder, Guo Huailie near the top of Mount Wuwei.

Gourd of No Return Walkthrough

Step Objectives

Objective 1
Acquire the Gourd of Remembrance under a collapsed roof at the Governor's Residence.

Objective 2
Head to Mount Wuwei and talk to the Elder Guo Huailie then give him the Gourd of Remembrance.

Objective 3
Perform Spirit Writing on the Gourd. Afterward, a conversation between the Elder and Zhang Huaishen will occur.

Objective 4
You must then buy grain, oil, and wine from the Merchant at Skybrim Market as an offering to Zhang Huaishen. Afterward, return to Guo Huailie, place the offerings, and perform Spirit Writing on the gourd again. Unfortunately, this will not work, and you must look for a specific type of grain, oil, and wine that Zhang Huaishen cared for.

To find the grain, you must visit the Agricultural Commissioner at the Reclining Buddha Temple and acquire it from him.

Objective 6
Then, head back to Skybrim Market and find the Oil-Selling Selling Veteran, who will give you the oil that you need.

Objective 7
Finally, visit Kingvine Village and find the Wine King Vine's son, Li Fanglao. Speak to him and get the wine.

Objective 8
Return to Guo Huailie and perform Spirit Writing once again with the new offerings. Once you have finished, follow Guo Huailie to the top of Mount Wuwei to complete the quest.
