How to Unlock Twisted Destiny

Visit the Bamboo Retreat and defeat the Wolves

Unlock Req. Chapter 1 - Heaven Has No Pier

Defeat the wolf pack right outside the Bamboo Retreat, then read the 'Challenge to the Cur' note near the entrance of the ruined home.

Twisted Destiny Walkthrough

  1. Investigate the Bloody Sack and the Note
  2. Change into Uncle Jiang's Outfit
  3. Go to the General's Shrine at Zi Hour
  4. Defeat the Headsman
  5. Gather Clues Around the Shrine
  6. Deduce the Clues
  7. Travel to Harvestfall Village
  8. Get the Wine from Blissful Retreat
  9. Return to Harvestfall Village

Investigate the Bloody Sack and the Note

Investigate the Sack and Note

After defeating the pack of wolves outside the ruined home, investigate the sack on the porch of the abandoned home.

Next, investigate the note called 'Challenge to the Cur' stuck on the broken door to start the encounter.

Change into Uncle Jiang's Outfit

Change into Uncle Jiang

Head inside the ruined house and interact with the cabinet to change into Uncle Jiang's clothes.

Go to the General's Shrine at Zi Hour

Once you've disguised yourself as Uncle Jiang, make your way to the General's Shrine just northwest of the Bamboo Retreat.

Once a the location, wait until the Zi hour to progress the quest and trigger a cutscene.

How to Change Time

Defeat the Headsman

Defeat the Headsman

The Headsman will challenge you to a duel after the cutscene. Your character will only be equipped with a Nameless Sword and you won't have access to any Mystic Arts and Inner Way.

Once you reduce his health to half, the Headsman will stop the duel after recognizing you're not Jiang Yan.

Gather Clues Around the Shrine

Clue Location
Investigate the Bloody Sack on the Table
Bloody Sack		 The first clue is a Bloody Sack sitting on the table located right in front of your character after the cutscene ends.
Investigate the Confession Letter Inside the Shrine
Confession Letter		 You can find the Confession Letter on the floor of the General's Shrine just a few steps north of the table.
Investigate the General
General's Teachings		 The General's Teachings is located on the table in front of the General's Statue inside the shrine.
Investigate the Two Statues Outside the Temple
Two Soldier Statues		 Next, you'll need to inspect two statues right outside shrine. You need to inspect both statues for the clues to count.
Investigate the Base of the Statue Outside
General's Statue		 Finally, inspect the base of the statue of the General right in front of the two soldier statues for the final clue.

Once the cutscene ends, you'll need to gather clues around the General's Shrine which are indicated by a gold glow. Investigate the Bloody Sack, Confession Letter, General's Teachings, the two Soldier Statues, and the General's Statue to progress the quest.

Deduce the Clues

View the clues in your journal and click on Start Deduction to piece together the clues. You'll need to link the correct clues together to progress the deduction minigame and find out the Headsman's next location.

Travel to Harvestfall Village

Harvestfall Village

Make your way to Harvestfall Village and eavesdrop on the Headsman and a Deranged Soldier. A short cutscene will play and you'll need to fight the Headsman again.

Defeat the Headsman

Confront the Headsman

You'll need to reduce the Headsman's health to half again. You have all of your equipped weapons, inner way, and mystic arts this time so it will be an easier fight.

Once you reduce his health to half, speak to him after the cutscene and he'll ask you to get some wine from Blissful Retreat.

Get the Wine from Blissful Retreat

Get the Wine for the Headsman

Make you way to Blissful Retreat and grab the wine hidden between the rocks, then give it to the Headsman just north of the area. A cutscene will then play where he'll tell you of his plan on how to get more information from the Deranged Soldier.

Return to Harvestfall Village

Sit on the Bench

Make your way to Harvestfall Village again and sit on the bench for a cutscene with the Deranged Soldier. Once the cutscene ends, use your Wind Sense to follow the Deranged Soldier's footprints.

Confront the Deranged Soldier one last time for another cutscene which reveals what really happened to the General, which also concludes the encounter.

These are all the rewards you can get by doing Twisted Destiny. The rewards listed above are the total earned as you progress through the quest and upon completing it.
