Chapter 3 Walkthrough

|---|---|
| 1 |  Head to the bamboo forest east of Bamboo Abode in Verdant Wilds, Qinghe. Examine the mural hidden in the forest, then light up the candle beside it to hear a voice. |
| 2 |  Light up the candle pot dangling at the gazebo behind you, then speak with the mysterious woman for a cutscene. Afterwards, accelerate the game's clock to the next evening. Light up the candle again to speak with the mysterious woman once more. |
| 3 |  Examine the mural when prompted during the conversation with the woman. Talking to her again afterwards will send you to a mysterious cabin. |
| 4 |  After getting sent to a mysterious cabin, examine the painting at the end of the room, then proceed to the exit of the cabin to board the boat bound for Hexi. |
| 5 |  Repair the bridge with Tai Chi, then press onwards to find a Torn Map in front of a sandy figure of an old man. Keep going down the slope until you find the shipwreck guarded by an Utuk Raptor. |
| 6 |  Defeat the Utuk Raptor by the shipwreck. Parry the enemy's quick lunges to avoid damage. Afterwards, cast Tai Chi on the flickering fragments to restore the first orb, which will trigger a cutscene. |
| 7 |  Give the Damaged Map to the old man. Follow him until he disappears. Keep going onwards by following the footprints found on the sand. Another glowing shipwreck will be found at the end of the trail, which is now guarded by more Utuk Raptors. |
| 8 |  After defeating the Utuk Raptors, restore the second orb by casting Tai Chi on the flickering fragments nearby. A sandstorm will ensue, and the same old man will appear again. Follow him through the storm and keep pressing on towards the huge tree until you find a giant stranded boat. |
| 9 |  Climb up the giant stranded ship and restore the third orb by casting Tai Chi on the flickering fragments. A swarm of Utuk Raptors will come your way, including a mini-boss, the Utuk Vanguard, whose attacks mainly consist of fast lunges while flying. Dodge these attacks to avoid taking damage. |
| 10 |  After defeating the enemy swarm, go up another ramp that will lead you to the top of the ship. Strike the drum once the silhouette of the man disappears. This will clear the sandstorm that is preventing you from accessing the rest of Jade Gate Pass. |
| 11 |  Approach the area where the giant stranded boat can be spotted to reach Karez. Afterwards, follow the slope going up to the top of the boat to find a fish tank hiding in a corner. |
| 12 |  Approach the fish tank. You will receive a Mysterious Scroll afterwards, which you can use to track the Burlap Sack main quest. |

| 1 |  Start A Brief Respite by locating the Euphrates Poplar at the west of Karez. A flashback cutscene featuring the Burlap Sack will trigger. As Burlap Sack, follow Handlebar Hu and submit all your coins to him before meeting with Dacao. |
| 2 |  After sitting on the bench for a bit, help around the caravan by moving goods, feeding a camel, and collecting dried potatoes from Meng Dalang's crops. Speak with Madam Qi afterwards, then prepare to depart with the rest of the crew. |
| 3 |  This time, go north of Karez and approach the deciduous tree to see another flashback about Burlap Sack. Sit along with the other merchants and listen in to their conversation. |
| 4 |  Burlap Sack will protest on the merchant's decision not to go to Black Water City. Talk to every merchant in any order: Xiaolian, Handlebar Hu, Er Dan, Hua Tuotuo, and Meng Dalang. Speak with Dacao after talking to all of them. |
| 5 |  Accept the Vultures and Vipers quest in the Swimming Fish Painting Scroll Menu. Continue Burlap Sack's story by going towards the ship debris in the Golden Sands River area. Follow the caravan and listen in to the conversation until you are interrupted by a bandit. |
| 6 |  After the long cutscene, take your belongings and look for some copper coins in a nearby stump. Follow the caravan's trail until Xiaolian catches up to you, who will provide you with a water bag. |
| 7 |  After returning to the present, approach the huge tree with hanging potteries northwest from your position. As Burlap Sack, a fox will steal your water bag. Chase after it and watch through the cutscenes. |
| 8 |  Head down to the area full of debris and draw some water from the well. From the water well, climb north towards the quest marker, where you will be prompted to chase after the fox until nighttime crashes. |
| 9 |  Go back to the well and draw some more water. Follow the quest marker going to the other side of the well, and watch a cutscene play. |
| 10 |  You will find yourself surrounded by vicious birds. Seek shelter by running towards Beacon Fort and dodge the monsters' attacks, as this can deplete your HP. |
| 11 |  Climb up to the second floor through the ladder on the left. Light up Torch #1 to scare off the birds. Continue avoiding their attacks as you light up Torch #2 and Torch #3 on the fort's rooftop. |
| 12 |  To continue the story, accept the Clawing to Light quest in the Swimming Fish Painting Scroll. As Burlap Sack, follow where the fox will lead you to dig around the area for your missing sack. |
| 13 |  Burlap Sack will start a monologue after realizing that he cannot find his sack. He will later find himself in a cave, surrounded by some villagers. Speak to the grandparent and her grandchild, the busy villagers, the nearby children, and the man by the fireplace. Afterwards, talk to Bao and follow him for some resources. |
| 14 |  Pick up some oats and pour them into the nearby straw basket. Afterwards, go to where Bao was yelping. He will lead you to your missing sack behind a rock. Leave the cave once the following cutscene ends. |
| 15 |  After returning to the present, cross the desert to reach the Ayisu area and approach the fox sitting in the middle of the way. Once again, as Burlap Sack, follow the fox that will lead you to the Black Water Station. |
| 16 |  Go around the station and sneak behind the tower by jumping on the roofs and ledges. Climb up the ladder all the way up to the top. You will find Handlebar Hu hiding nearby as you go upwards. |
| 17 |  With a wider vision of the station, examine the people scattered around the area. You will find that these are the same merchants from earlier. After examining all three points, look at the bird on top of the hut to find the Oghuz running towards the station. |
| 18 |  Go down the tower and watch a cutscene play. Once this ends, hide behind the barrels, then transfer to the wall nearby to find Xiaolian cowering in fear next to your sack. Agree to rescue him, then sneak away with him towards the camels. |
| 19 |  After Xiaolian trips, Black Water patrols will catch up to him. You will be looped into a battle while wielding the Teng Blade. Deflect enemy attacks and strike back! |
| 20 |  A long cutscene will play afterwards. This will conclude the Burlap Sack quest. |
