How to Unlock The Gilded Chase

To unlock the Worldly Affair The Gilded Chase, Go to Harvestfall Village in Qinghe and approach the bounty board near the village entrance. Interacting with the board will start the quest.

1. Examine the Bounty Board in Harvestfall Village
Examine the Bounty Board and discover the hit put out for Jun Bujian, a phantom thief who has been known to sabotage Master Wen Wuhen’s birthday celebration. Midway, the notice will change, announcing his intent to steal the boat.
2. Speak with Old Jin at the Riverside Station
Go to the Riverside Station and talk to Old Jin near the tea stall. He will try to convince you to join in on his scheme to get the boat blueprints.
3. Head to the Dock
Head to the dock and assess the situation. Approach the Zither Keeper; she will tell you that an invitation is needed to board the boat. Seek out Officer Nan and get a job posting.
4. Get an Invitation to the Mirage Boat
Enter the building across the Zither Keeper and speak with Officer Nan, the Southern Wayfarer. Prove your skill by clearing the swarm of fish to gain entry to the Mirage Boat. Before leaving, you can ask Nan questions for more information.
5. Investigate the Docks
Climb the rooftop of the building where Nan is. Once in the right location, your Wind Sense will automatically activate. Use it on three locations on the doc:
- On the Crowd in Front of the building
- On the carriages on your right
- On the old man sitting on the dock to the left, behind the trees.
After investigating, jump down and speak with the Southern Wayfarer again, and inform him of the information you gathered.
6. Investigate the Guqin Player
Go to the dock where the old man is and find out who is playing the Guqin. Officer Nan will confirm that the man is Jun Bujian and will give you an invitation to board the boat.
7. Board the Mirage Boat
Move the time forward to the Xu Hour of the next day and go aboard the Mirage Boat. Go to the second floor and join the meeting. Master Wuhen urges the capture of Jun Bujian.
8. Investigate the Mirage Boat
After the meeting, go down to the deck and search for Officer Nan. He will be standing by the railing to the left of the mahjong area if you are facing the boat.
| Tip: If your game is bugged and the waypoint is under the boat, jump off the boat, then choose to return to the nearby quest objective using the panel action. |
Gather Intel on the Boat

 Speak with Officer Nan; he will tell you to gather intel among the people aboard at his expense. Speak with the people listed on your objectives:

9. Solve the Clues to Figure Out the Scheme
Figure out the clues to reveal the scheme the phantom thief is trying to pull.

10. Report Your Findings to Officer Nan
Return to Officer Nan and report your findings, and go with him to speak with Master Wuhen. Go up to the private room, and a cut scene will play.
Use Wind Sense to find out the possible culprits. The following people will be suspected: Sishu, Jin Zhongyuan, Old Jin, Siqin, Siqi, and Master Wuhen himself.
11. Chase Old Jin
Report your findings to Officer Nan, and a cut scene will play. Old Jin will confess to being the Phantom Thief.
Capture Old Jin
| 11.1 |  Chase after Old Jin. Use Cloud Steps to quickly jump from platform to platform. |

| 11.2 |  After reaching the shore, defeat Old Jin. This will be a normal battle, so attack as you would a normal enemy. After defeating Old Jin, he is not the real thief, and the boat will be stolen. |
12. Investigate Mercyheart Town
Cloud Step to the smaller boats until you reach Officer Nan, eavesdrop on his conversation. Go to the next boats and eavesdrop on Sassy Searess with the other heroes and the villagers.
Follow the waypoint and search for clues in the water. Follow the clues to Mercyheart town and speak with Officer Nan. Use wind sense to follow the thief’s trail.
Find Out How the Boat Disappeared
| 12.1 |  Once you reach the shore, you will find traces of a burial, bamboo and ashes, and ash fragments. A mysterious person will speak with you once you finish finding all the clues. |

| 12.2 |  Use Wind Sense to follow the traces of the mysterious person; this will lead you across Mercyheart Town until you find Jun Bujian. The figure is a fake, and he will disappear in a burst of flames. |
| 12.3 |  Go to the dock and speak with Officer Nan, and follow him on the boat. Officer Nan will reveal himself to be the real Master Wuhen in disguise. With him, you go catch up to Jun Bujian. |
13. Defeat the Phantom Thief
A cut scene will play as you head to the boat. After the scene, defeat the Phantom Thief Jun Bujian.
14. Speak with Old Jin Again
Another cut scene will play with Jun Bujian setting off the fireworks filled with coins. Return to the shore and speak with Old Jin to end the quest.
