There are 4 different ways to participate and engage in romance in the game, each with its own goals, ranks, and benefits that provide bonus effects and unlock special items in the social shop. This system encourages players to socialize and interact with other players:
| Hero Bond | Sworn Cohort |
| Intimacy | Discipleship |

Hero Bond is a feature that allows you to build new connections and meet other players by sending and receiving handwritten poems from strangers who are also looking to build relationships and find new cohorts.

The Sworn Cohort is a group relationship system where 3 to 10 members can complete activities in the Engagement Hub to increase their Cohort Level and earn currency that can be used to purchase exclusive items from the social shop.

Intimacy is a progression based romance system where you need to meet certain requirements to increase your intimacy rank and unlock nodes that provide various bonus effects, instead of earning currency for the social shop.
| We're still figuring out how Discipleship works. Stay tuned for updates! |

As you increase your rank across all available romance features, you will unlock more Decorations, Hero Titles, Emotes, and Cosmetics in the Social Shop. You can then spend the currency you earn from building and maintaining relationships to purchase these exclusive items.

Some sects in the game require maintaining good relationships with cohorts. Be sure to join a sect to take full advantage of the benefits that come from romancing and socializing with other players.

Calling every social bond in the game romantic is a bit misleading I think
