How to Unlock Hidden in Plain Sight

Talk to Zhao Lin in Steed's Pass - Ferry West

Hidden in Plain Sight Map Location
Region Liangzhou Town, Hexi

To unlock the quest Hidden in Plain Sight, you must investigate the commotion at Steed's Pass - Ferry West. Once you arrive, talk to Zhao Lin to learn the situation.

Hidden in Plain Sight Walkthrough

Step Objectives

Objective 1
Approach the crowd nearby and talk to Zhao Lin. It will be revealed that Zhao Lin is being accused of theft by Wang Yan.

Objective 2
After Wang Yan urges you to help him, you must investigate the freights nearby and inquire the opinions of the laborers. You can ask Xiaofang, who reveals his suspicion about Wang Yan.

Objective 3
Next, you must view the freight logs on the crates. You will discover that Wang Yan was recently hired in Day 3 and that the theft incident occured on Day 5.

Objective 4
You will need to investigate the footprints. To reveal the footprints, go behind Zhao Lin and you will see a needle-like marker glowing under the crates. You must Hold to lift the crates up, which will then reveal the footprints.

Return to the log book and view it to start the deduction.

Remember that you can do the deductions in any order. For "Qin Xin sent Wang Yan to investigate the theft," you must link "Wang Yan joined the transport team two days ago."

Link "There are footprints in the impassable crevice" and "Wang Yan knows a technique to shrink his body"

Link "Only Wang Yan could have accessed the lost item" and "Qin Xin and Wang Yan have an unusual relationship." This will conclude that Qin Xin and Wang Yan have collaborated with each other to steal the keepsake.

Confront Wang Yan to complete the quest!
