How to Unlock Woven with Malice
Find the Scholar in the Woods of Buddha Fort

To unlock the Woven with Malice Worldly Affairs Quest, find the scholar beside a large bell in the forest north of Buddha Fort. The quest will unlock as you approach him. To trigger the quest, speak with the scholar.
Woven with Malice Walkthrough
| Step | Objectives |
|---|---|
| 1 |  Speak with the scholar waiting by the bell. He will talk about waiting one more day for someone. Use the menu to move the daw forward a day, only to find the scholar trapped inside the bell. Speak with him, and he will ask for your help. Go to the nearby village and find a seamstress to make a "Celestial Silk Garment". |
| 2 |  Follow the waypoint to the village north of where the scholar is. Speak with Little Needle inside the house with the hanging cloth. She will ask you to get the black, red, and blue dyes around the area. |
| 3 |  Grab the red and blue dye on the table and the black dye in the charcoal basin inside the house. Return to Little Needle and give her the dyes. Wait a day to get your "Celestial Silk Garment". |
| 4 |  Return to the Scholar's location. You will notice a woman surrounded by snakes standing beside the bell. Make sure to go straight to where the waypoint is. If you try to approach the woman, the quest will fail. Eavesdrop on their conversation. |
| 5 |  After the woman leaves, examine the bell and pick up the handkerchief on the grass. Little Needle will appear as you examine the handkerchief. She will tell you that the next target will be a Monk named Tranquillus. |
| 6 |  Travel to Wildmane Ranch and follow the waypoint to Monk Tranquillus' location. Battle with the monk to find out his history with the Celestial Silk Garment. Battle him again, and after the battle, find the second handkerchief in the bushes by the broken fence. |
| 7 |  Show Tranquillus the handkerchief, set up a trap by burning the vines blocking a nearby cave. After clearing the vines, tell Little Needle to hide, then speak with the monk. Once the trap is set, wait and hide until the woman arrives. Follow the woman after she runs away. You have been led to a trap. Go back to check on the Monk, speak with him, and get the Peaceful Monk's Letter. |
| 8 |  Speak with Little Needle, and afterwards travel to Bamboo Grove, in the southernmost clearing from the Bamboo Retreat Boundary Stone. Speak with Little Needle, then speak with the Stranger. Hand over both handkerchiefs to him and ask him about the scholar and the silkworms. After speaking with the man, speak with Little Needle. |
| 9 |  Investigate the wagon and use Celestial Seize to get the Boss's Secret Letter. Examine the Ruins and Mighty Drop on the Floor to discover a stack of explosive barrels. Inspect the Stone Wall and discover the arrow trap. Finally, use Wind Sense and go to the spot indicated. Eavesdrop on the two lurking men and prepare for the ambush ahead. |
| 10 |  When you return to the Pavilion Owner, you will be poisoned, and he will reveal his plan to kidnap Little Needle. The Mysterious Man will arrive to confront the Pavilion Owner. Shout and warn them of the ambush. A cut scene will play out, and you will be rescued from the Pavilion Owner. Speak with the 2 martial artists. After they leave, speak with Little Needle to end the quest. |
