1. Search Carefully Around the Bamboo Abode
Inspect the Loong Pattern on the broken-off door by the entrance of the house. Then, go inside and inspect the table and the Cleaned Spirit Tablet.
Before leaving, just by the door inside the house, open the chest to receive 2 Echo Jade and the cosmetic item Rider's Gilded Mask.
2. Leap Over the Bridge to Continue Onward
Talk to Ruby outside. Interact with the Boundary Stone beside her to unlock a teleport landmark for Bamboo Abode.
Follow Ruby to a bridge, which will collapse. Follow the prompts on your screen to jump, dash, and fall to the other side. Continue ahead until you reach a cliffside overlooking the grasslands.
3. Find the Shooter
Cross two short bridges to find and talk to the shooter Feng Jisheng, who will give you the Mystic Art Still Waters. You may first practice shooting the birds before talking to Feng Jisheng again to start the trial.
4. Shoot the Birds
Shoot five birds flying above the cliff. Consume Endurance to trigger Still Waters, which will slow down the birds' movement speed, making it easier to aim your bow. After completing the trial, talk to Feng Jisheng.
5. Approach the Stranger
Head down the cliff by carefully dashing and falling to the ground. Talk to the Wayfarer, who will reveal a portion of Qinghe on your world map. Talking to Wayfarers will unlock parts of a region, so remember to do this to make exploration easier.
The Wayfarer will also offer the first set of Jianghu Legacies in Qinghe for 50 Echo Jade. You can haggle with him twice to get them for free.
6. Drive the Bear Away
The Wayfarer will tell you to drive off a nearby black bear. Approaching it, you will learn about Skill Theft, allowing you to learn Tai Chi from the bear. Time your button inputs with the golden rings to successfully learn the martial art, then use it to defeat the bear.
Nearby, you can talk to Qi Sheng to complete the short Exploration Quest Oddity: Melody Hunt and earn a Martial Art of your choice. One of the choices is the Panacea Fan, which is beneficial to have as healing is scarce in the early game.

7. Win the Tournament at the General's Shrine
Cross the river toward the fields to reach the General's Shrine. Nearing the shrine, you will encounter two men robbing a horse. You can pursue them to complete the Exploration Quest The Shameless.
Enter the shrine and participate in an impromptu tournament. Initiate the tournament by talking to Fang Xu sitting on scaffolding by the wall.
8. Defeat Fang Xu
Defeat Fang Xu. You have to deplete Fang Xu's Qi five times to win. Qi refers to the white bar above Fang Xu's head, below his HP. Deflect and evade Fang Xu's attacks to avoid exhausting your own Qi.
If you are having trouble deflecting his attacks, you may turn on Deflection Assist in the Settings.
Parry Charged Attack and Dodge Fire Slashes
It is easier to parry Fang Xu's long-winded charge attack, letting you deplete a sizable chunk of his Qi and temporarily stun him. On the other hand, dodge his three fire slashes as they are quicker and harder to parry if you are not used to the mechanic yet.
9. Find Ruby to Go Home
Claim your prize from Old Jin. After calling him out for his scam, open the gift with Ruby. You will also receive a new Appearance, First Step, to customize your character with. To finish the quest, go find Ruby to go home to Heaven's Pier, then talk to Beard Guang.
Otherwise, you can stay longer at the shrine before moving along. While there, you can initiate the Echoes in the Shrine Jianghu Legacy by approaching the kowtowing man at the General's Shrine.

Anonymous 11 daysHaggling with the wayfarer did NOT give a Legacy Quest. The only option he has now is to Gift Gold.
