Tell a Safe Place to Secure Food Supplies
Recommend a safe place for Barn Rat to store food supplies by roleplaying in the chat that you found a good spot to secure his food. Roleplay that Barn Rat has secured his food on the good spot to befriend him.

 (rummaging through a sack, eyes darting around) Wanderer, can you tell me where I can find a safe place to store grain? |

Barn Rat is in the same house location as Embroidered Rat in Mercyheart Town. Please take note that Barn Rat might not be in the house depending on the time of day, so we suggest changing the time so you can spawn Barn Rat inside the house.

How to Succeed in AI Chat
Reset Dialogue When Stuck
If your conversation has gone off the rails, or doesn't end no matter what you say, it's best to simply reset and start anew from a clean slate by clicking the button with a Refresh icon at the top of the chat box. Instead of trying several methods within one conversation, trying one strategy at a time and refreshing if it doesn't go anywhere is generally more effective.
Return to Login Screen if Combat Begins
Sometimes, NPCs will suddenly become violent during AI dialogues. When this happens, it's best to just bail out to the login screen; when you return, the NPC will be found just as they were before the conversation started.
If you accidentally kill a dialogue-capable NPC, our experience has shown that they will respawn, but this has not been heavily tested, so it's best to simply avoid engaging them in combat.
Double-Check the Hint
Even if the NPC appears to be happy with the result of your discussion, this won't always end the dialogue. Double-checking the text written in the hint will imply the win condition, so try strategies which will lead the dialogue towards that result.
