New Hexi Subregion: Jade Gate PassNew Hexi Subegion: Jade Gate Pass
Jade Gate Pass is the first subregion in Hexi and will be released on March 6, 2026 (UTC) during Version 1.4: Home Afar's update. This will introduce new content, including quests, a Martial Art Path, Bosses and events.
New Martial Art Path: Bamboocut - Dust
Bamboocut - Dust is a new Martial Art Path that will release on March 6, 2026 (UTC). This features a new weapon combo, the umbrella, Springdream Scape, and the rope dart, Fleeting Clouds.

Two new Bosses in Jade Gate Pass will be released on Version 1.4's update on March 6, 2026 (UTC): the Wandering Ark, a World Boss, and the Whitecrown Fortress, Guo Xin, a Campaign Boss.

Burlap Sack will be the main story featured in the Jade Gate Pass subregion. It tells the tale of a man traveling with a mysterious sack.
The Jade Gate Pass will also feature three Jianghu Legacies: In the Quiet Night, Desert Without Sails, and A Wellspring of Hope. These side stories have more tales to tell about what goes on in Hexi.

Hexi's events will be released between March 6, 2026, and March 27, 2026 (UTC). Their specific release dates are currently undetermined, but are expected to occur before the month ends.

New Appearance outfit sets will arrive on March 6, 2026 (UTC), mainly Whirl of Radiance, which is a Hexi exclusive outfit that can be drawn freely, and Iron Cavalry, which can be exchanged with paid currency. Snowy River will arrive a little later on March 12, 2026, but will run until June 10, 2026.
A new Battle Pass will be released on March 6, 2026 (UTC) and will go on until April 1, 2026 (UTC). This will feature a new Battle Pass Outfit: Tiger's Bane.

New Martial Arts
| Martial Arts | Description |
|---|---|
| Tang Hengdao | A katana-based Martial Art. It allows you to attack up to three hits if you miss an enemy. Provides two additional slashes after a successful parry. It will release globally on April 2026. |
| Mo Dao | A Martial Art that lets you wield a glaive. It consists of heavy attacks. It comes with a heavy attack that can be charged against an enemy. |
| Gauntlets | A fist weapon martial art. It consists of quick rapid punches, assisted by a flying creature as you land more attacks. There has yet to be any announcement of the official name for this weapon. |
The Tang Hengdao and Mo Dao are two upcoming martial arts that will join the global launch of the game. The Tang Hengdao will let you wield a katana that is capable of unleashing a flurry of slashes. On the other hand, the Mo Dao is a glaive that inflicts heavy attacks against your enemy.
For a more rapid series of attacks, this can be enjoyed with the Gauntlets, especially during close-ranged combats.

As of the release of Velvet Shade and the announcement of the Masked Troupe for Version 1.3, 5 sects have yet to be introduced to the game: Hollow Vale, The Inkbound Order, Mohist Hill, Lone Cloud, and Raging Tides.
When Does Where Winds Meet Update?
Update for Major Updates is Every 11-13 Weeks
Major updates typically occur every 11-13 weeks when following the pacing of the Chinese releases. This already includes all major seasons and events that will introduce a huge main story update and another region in the map.
Certain features, such as side quests, collectibles, martial arts skills, and minigames, will be included in these updates as well.
Smaller Patches Every Other Week
From the current global release, there has been a shorter time frame for small patch notes and updates. However, it can be assumed that typical patch releases are scheduled every Friday of the week, as this has been consistently implemented on the Chinese servers.
