Gong Ge is an Old Friend you can chat with after completing the Land of Gold Encounter in Where Winds Meet. Befriend Gong Ge by helping her rehearse quitting her job with the help of specific AI chat prompts.
How to Befriend Gong Ge
Listen to Her Rehearse Quitting Her Job
To befriend Gong Ge, all you have to do is listen to her as she rehearses confronting her caravan leader about quitting her job. Simply go along with her rehearsal by prompting her to continue or affirming that you're listening.
Spawns After Completing Land of Gold Encounter
Gong Ge can only be befriended after you complete the Encounter Land of Gold in Poplar Bazaar. After completing the quest, reload Poplar Bazaar by teleporting away and coming back to spawn the NPCs now populating the area.

(puts on the stiff airs of a Caravan leader) Our Caravan's income has fallen because too many people slack off—always doing things unrelated to work during work hours, completely harming the Caravan's interests! From today on, everyone's bathroom time may not exceed one minute. Anyone who goes over will be fined five hundred wine! |

How to Succeed in AI Chat
Reset Dialogue When Stuck
If your conversation has gone off the rails, or doesn't end no matter what you say, it's best to simply reset and start anew from a clean slate by clicking the button with a Refresh icon at the top of the chat box. Instead of trying several methods within one conversation, trying one strategy at a time and refreshing if it doesn't go anywhere is generally more effective.
Return to Login Screen if Combat Begins
Sometimes, NPCs will suddenly become violent during AI dialogues. When this happens, it's best to just bail out to the login screen; when you return, the NPC will be found just as they were before the conversation started.
If you accidentally kill a dialogue-capable NPC, our experience has shown that they will respawn, but this has not been heavily tested, so it's best to simply avoid engaging them in combat.
Double-Check the Hint
Even if the NPC appears to be happy with the result of your discussion, this won't always end the dialogue. Double-checking the text written in the hint will imply the win condition, so try strategies which will lead the dialogue towards that result.
